2019 Lexus ES Shows Off The Future Of Lexus Interiors
Lexus has unveiled the 2019 ES that shows off the next generation of the automakers entry-level luxury car. The new ES rides on the all-new global architecture called the GA-K platform. Lexus says that the new ES is 2.6-inches longer, .2-inches lower, and 1.8-inches wider than the outgoing ES.
The wheels of the car have also been pushed further to the corners with a 2-inch longer wheelbase and .4-inch wider track. The outside of the car is all-new with a sportier design than previous models, but it still looks like a Lexus. LED taillamps are integrated and the F SPORT version gets a rear spoiler, dark lower valance, and badging to set it apart.
Three new wheel designs are offered for 2019 models with standard 17-inch and a pair of 18-inch optional offerings. The F SPORT version gets standard 19-inch wheels. Lexus offers the ride in a dozen colors including Moonbeam Beige Metallic and Sunlit Green. F SPORT buyers can choose an exclusive Ultra Sonic Blue Mica 2.0 color.
The interior of the new ES is the future of Lexus interiors according to the automaker. It has a center display screen and instrument panel with an available HUD. The passengers get a more spacious environment for comfort. F SPORT models get metallic cabin trim that is new to Lexus. ES 350 and ES 300h buyers get traditional materials like Matte Bamboo wood and other colors of wood.
Standard power is a V6 engine that makes 302hp and 267 lb-ft of torque. A new 8-speed automatic is standard on the ES 350. The hybrid model uses fourth-generation tech and has a 2.5L four and hybrid system that provide 215 total horsepower and estimated 44mpg in combined driving. Lexus also packs the car with safety tech from the Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 line.
