2019 Hyundai Elantra starts at $17,100

Hyundai announced the redesigned 2019 Elantra last month and the car looked very nice to most eyes. While we knew all the specs of the car, what we didn't know was how much the redesigned Elantra would cost. Hyundai has now gone official with that pricing information. The entry-level SE M/T will start at $17,100, which is $150 more than the 2018 model.

The $150 price increase compared to last year's entry model gets buyers a rearview camera, 5-inch color touchscreen, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and steering wheel audio controls. Adding an automatic transmission to the mix will raise prices by $1,000. The second step up the Elantra ladder for 2019 is the SEL.

SEL comes with an automatic transmission in 6-speed flavor and starts at $19,400. The Elantra Value model has a 6-speed automatic and starts at $20,400. All previous models use a 2.0L four engine. The first with the 1.4L Turbo GDI engine is the Eco version and it also uses a 7-speed EcoShift dual-clutch transmission and carries a $20,950 sticker price.

Elantra Limited uses the 2.0L four and normal 6-speed auto with a starting price of $22,600. Sport trim comes in a version with the turbo engine and 6-speed manual starting at $22,400 or with the 7-speed dual clutch for $23,500.

None of the list prices include the $885 freight charge. Fuel economy for the Eco version is pegged at 35mpg. This should be a popular car for Hyundai, it has good looks inside and out combined with low pricing and good fuel economy.
