2019 Acura MDX lands with new interior options and A-Spec package

Acura has announced that the 2019 MDX has landed in dealerships. The 2019 version of the 3-row SUV packs some notable changes for fans of the car. One of those changes is the appearance of an A-Spec sport appearance package available for the firs time. That A-Spec package includes SH-AWD and has a more athletic stance thanks to half-inch wider than stock 20-inch wheels.

Those wheels are Shark grey aluminum units with 265/45 tires fitted. The front fascia, body-color lower sills, larger diameter exhaust finishers, and glass-black and dark chrome trim for headlights, grille, window surround, and rear tailgate spoiler round out the package. Inside the A-Spec gets red or black interior with black Alcantara inserts and contrast stitching. Sport gauges and sport pedals are included and Alcantara is on the door inserts along with a special steering wheel.

There are new color options for the MDX this year including new Gunmetal Metallic and four newly available premium colors—Majestic Black Pearl, Performance Red Pearl, Canyon Bronze Metallic and the A-Spec-exclusive Apex Blue Pearl. Buyers can option the MDX with Active Damper System.

The transmission is a 9-speed automatic promising smoother operation and more fluid acceleration. Power for all models comes from a 3.5L direct-injected 24-valve V6 engine with 290 peak horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. The SH-AWD system can send up to 70% of the torque to the rear wheels.

Fuel economy ratings are 20/27/23 with the A-Spec and other SH-AWD versions rated at 19/25/21. Acura offers the Acura Watch drive safety and assistance suite on all MDX models. Pricing starts at $44,300 plus a $995 destination and handling fee. The A-Spec starts at $54,800 and a top of the line A-spec caps out at $60,050.
