2017 Mercedes AMG C63 Coupe bi-turbo V8 makes up to 503hp

Mercedes has unveiled the all-new 2017 AMG C63 coupe and the high-end sports car looks dead sexy inside and out. The car will be offered in a standard C63 utilizing a bi-turbo V8 engine that makes 469hp. A hotter C63 S version of the car will pack a bi-turbo V8 with power bumped up to 503hp. The C63 S is an in-house development from Affalterbach.

C63 buyers also get AMD Ride Control suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers and AMG Dynamic Select transmission modes. The limited slip differential in the rear axle and dynamic engine mounts were developed by AMG.

The C63 coupe gets 479 lb-ft of torque and can reach 60mph in 3.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 155mph. The C63 S has 516 lb-ft of torque and can reach 60mph in 3.8 seconds on its way to 180mph. the new C63 gets wider wheel arches that allow AMG to fit more tire under the car at all four corners with tires up to 10-inches wide in the front and up to 11.2-inches in the rear.

The redesigned rear of the car has an integrated diffuser for better aerodynamics. The V8 engine under the hood of the C63 coupe is the same engine in the C63 Sedan and the AMG GT S sports car. Power goes to the ground via an AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed paddle shift transmission able to perform shifts faster than in previous models. Pricing is unannounced at this time.
