10-inch Acer Aspire One coming Q1 2009
Acer will launch a 10-inch version of the Aspire One netbook in February or March 2009, according to Acer Taiwan president Scott Lin. While Lin kept quiet on specifications for the larger Aspire, it will presumably offer the same Intel Atom processor as the existing model, only in a larger package and with a bigger display.
Lin also confirmed several new models in Acer's mainstream notebook ranges, both under the company's primary brand and their Gateway subsidiary. A 14.1-inch LED-backlit notebook priced below NT$40,000 ($1,198) will land before the end of the year, followed by 12.1-inch, 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch LED-backlit notebooks in 2009.
As for Gateway, that brand will be used for a 13.3-inch notebook and all-in-one PCs, potentially as rivals to the ASUS Eee Top and MSI Neton. Acer have previously stated their intention to take half the netbook market in 2009.
