YouTube And Eventbrite Team Up To Sell Live Performance Tickets

YouTube and Eventbrite have teamed to make it easier for viewers to buy live performance tickets. The new experience is launching on YouTube Official Artist Channels, where viewers will be presented with Eventbrite concert listings in the US. Anyone who wants to purchase one of these tickets will be able to directly do so from the video page.

Users will see ticketing options on these official channels for live performances that take place in the United States. These events, YouTube points out, are a major source of revenue for artists; the company positions its new feature as another way to support those performers.

Users who want to purchase a concert tickets will have the option of clicking a big, bright blue "Tickets" button. Doing so will take the user to the Eventbrite page to purchase them, speeding up the entire selection and buying process.

Between this Eventbrite pairing and the Ticketmaster partnership, YouTube says it now covers over 70-percent of the ticketing market (in the United States, that is). According to Nielsen, 44-percent of teenagers and 26-percent of millennials discover new live music events through YouTube.
