Verizon Has no Plans to Carry Windows Phone 7 Until 2011

We already know that, here in the United States, AT&T is the premiere carrier for Microsoft's upcoming Windows Phone 7 mobile Operating System. That basically means that the second largest wireless carrier will have first dibs on the devices that sport the new OS, and the other carriers will get second picking. That doesn't seem to really bother Big Red, though, as Verizon has just come clean on the fact that they won't be offering any Windows Phone 7 devices until 2011.

When Microsoft announced Windows Phone 7, Verizon was certainly named, but it was AT&T that got the prime stake in the premiere slot. Some believed that, since the failure of Microsoft's Project Kin and Verizon subsequently pulling them from the shelves, that they were making room for Windows Phone 7. That doesn't seem to be the case, at least not in the short term. So, if you're on Verizon and waiting for Windows Phone 7, it looks like you'll be waiting for a bit longer.
