VeriSign to put password generators on your credit card

Remember those random password generators that Paypal started giving out a little while ago? VeriSign is hoping to take that technology a step further.

They have noted that one-time use passwords haven't taken off here in the US because people don't want to carry around a little password generator with them everywhere. So instead they have teamed up with Innovative Card Technologies to put those generators on standard credit cards.

This helps to prevent online scams such as phishing because even if someone manages to steal your regular username and password for online sites, they will still be required to enter a randomly-generated six digit code.
