Uncharted movie arrives in theaters June 2016
Sony has been busy tweeting movie teases this week, and among them was a picture for the upcoming movie Uncharted, based on the game by the same name. With this poster came one exciting detail: the release date, revealing when fans will get to see it in theaters.
According to the tweet, the movie will hit theaters on June 10, 2016, meaning you've still got quite a bit of wait time ahead of you. Unfortunately, the tweet didn't include any additional information, except "to mark your calendars!" and the hashtag #UnchartedMovie.
This will be the first movie based on the popular game series, and according to Hollywood Reporter, it has been given the coveted summer slot previously reserved for Amazing Spider-Man 3, which is now slated for 2018.
Seth Gordon is said to be on board for the Uncharted movie, and the latest screenplay draft is said to have been written by David Guggenheim. The movie will be produced by Charles Roven, Avi Arad, and Alex Gartner, and a production of Arad and Atlas Entertainment.
