Tekken 7 release date, pre-order bonus Eliza announced

Good new for fighting game fans: Tekken 7 finally has a release date. It has a lot more than just a release date too, with Bandai Namco making a bunch of Tekken-related announcement today. The new information coming our way today includes details on Tekken 7's collector's edition, season pass, and how to unlock the character Eliza from Tekken Revolution, so there's a lot to get through.

Hardcore Tekken fans will want to consider picking up the collector's edition of the game, as it comes with a statue depicting Kazuya and Heihachi engaged in battle with one another. Other bonuses include a "special steel book" and a copy of the soundtrack. At the moment, Bandai Namco hasn't announced a price for this edition, but considering the statue, it'll probably be fairly expensive.

There will also be a season pass available at launch for folks who already know they're going all-in on Tekken 7. Bandai Namco doesn't describe Tekken 7's DLC in too much depth, but says that the season pass will include three content packs that offer new characters, stages, and costumes. Just like the collector's edition, there's no price for the season pass yet, but one thing to note is that it'll be included with the digital deluxe edition of Tekken 7 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

If you choose to pre-order Tekken 7, you'll be given access to Eliza, a vampire character from Tekken Revolution. She's available as a pre-order bonus across Xbox One, PS4, and PC, though Xbox One players will get a free copy of Tekken 6 as well. PlayStation 4 players, on the other hand, will get exclusive access to legacy costumes for three different characters and a jukebox mode that allows you to play music from previous Tekken games in Tekken 7.

Now the biggest Tekken news of the day: Tekken 7 will launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on June 2. There's still around five months to wait, but Bandai Namco says that pre-orders are opening up soon. It sounds like pre-orders for the standard edition will open up today, while the digital Xbox One edition that includes Tekken 6 will be available on the Xbox Store beginning on January 31.
