Talkase puts a backup GSM phone on your smartphone case

Some folks who require a mobile phone for business carry more than one device to be sure they have one mobile ready to work at any time. The problem with that is carrying two mobiles is typically very bulky and can be expensive. A new product called Talkase has debuted and it puts a basic GSM mobile phone on the back of your smartphone case making it easy to have a backup device with you.

The Talkase mobile phone is a very small and thin device about the size of a credit card. The phone clicks into a plastic case that is available for the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus. The Talkase phone itself is a GSM device that charges via USB.

In addition to being usable as a standalone phone, the Talkase can also connect to your iPhone via Bluetooth allowing it to show caller ID info on its small screen and you can answer calls on the Talkase phone when your main mobile rings. The GSM device supports quad-band frequency and works with any micro-SIM.

Talkase is on Kickstarter right now seeking $60,000 and has raised at the time of writing over $99,000 with 15 days to go on the project. To get one of the cases with the GSM phone you need to pledge $39 or more with shipping expected in December 2014.
