Steam Halloween sale begins with deals on spooky games

If you're one of the three people who doesn't have a massive PC backlog and needs some new games to play, then good news: Steam has kicked off its Halloween sale for 2018. Compared to some of the other sales Steam holds throughout the year, the Halloween sale is a bit smaller-scale. Still, if you're in the mood for a good horror game to match the time of year, then you'll probably have no problem finding something you like.

To be clear, when I say "smaller-scale," I don't mean that there are only a few deals on offer. There are thousands of games on sale at the moment – Steam's own "Specials" section returns 747 pages of results – but this sale won't last quite as long as some of the others Steam holds each year. Since Halloween is the theme, the landing page for the store mostly shows horror or survival games too, so if you want something other than games of those genres, you'll want to dig into to Steam's complete specials listing.

Some of the discounts Steam highlights on the sale's landing page include Dead by Daylight for $9.99 (50% off), Graveyard Keeper for $14.99 (25% off), Vampyr for $33.49 (33% off), and Don't Starve Together for $5.99 (60% off). That page also highlights some deals on horror VR games, include The Vanishing of Ethan Carter for $3.98 (87% off) and Killing Floor Incursion for $9.89 (67% off).

There are, of course, many more deals than the ones listed above (you can even sort specifically by vampire or zombie games if you want!), so if you've got some cash burning a hole in your pocket, you'll definitely want to take your time browsing the full selection of offers. If you find something you like, you don't have have long to buy it, as the Steam Halloween sale wraps up on November 1 at 10 AM Pacific.
