Sony talks about PS3 price cuts again

Time and again, we hear news about a possible price drop for the PS3. Why do we keep hearing about it? Because that's what the people want. Has Sony finally come to their senses and decided to drop the price? Not just yet.

We've heard a lot of different views on the price issue from various Sony execs in the past, however, the latest one comes from Sir Howard Stringer, chairman and CEO of Sony Corp. When he was asked about the PS3 price in a recent interview he responded with this. "That is what we are studying at the moment. That's what we are trying to refine."

What exactly does that mean? It means that they know people want them to drop the price, and they're thinking about it. Go ahead and sit around and talk about what you think you should do. Sales have been in a slump for some time now while your competitors are consistently out-selling you every month. What's worse is Microsoft is thinking about a price drop for the Xbox 360. Maybe a price cut on the 360 would prompt them to come down a little in price.
