Samsung Soundcamp app lets you create music on your smartphone

Samsung has an app called Soundcamp that is designed to let DJs create music right from their smartphones. The app has new features and is compatible with third party apps that allow amateur and professional DJs to play, compose, mix, and spin from the screen of their Samsung smart devices without needing any additional equipment.

Soundcamp is a mobile DAW and MIDI sequencer applications that is designed to be a studio recording system giving musicians access to built-in virtual instruments such as keyboards and drums along with an audio recorder with built-in sound effects.

The app also gives the ability to connect to and record with third-party music apps. Tracks can be edited using the mobile workstation soundboard and Soundcamp has a Multitrack View for recording up to eight tracks in MIDI or stereo audio. The MIDI Editor View allows for PC-level MIDI editing and the Mixer View looks like the mixing console in recording studios.

Those tools allow users to combine, route, and change the level and dynamics of audio signals from a single screen. The two newest features are Looper that allows the creation of short sections of tracks that can repeat seamlessly. The Sampler function lets users import, record, and play any sound including the human voice into a custom instrument. Soundcamp is in Galaxy Apps and the Google Play Store for download now.
