Samsung Notebook 7 Spin 2018 Refresh Adds Stylus And Bigger Battery

We're bound to receive a lot of notebook reveals next week during CES 2018, but Samsung is trying to beat the rest to the punch by revealing one of its new devices today. The company has announced its new Notebook 7 Spin for 2018 which, like so many other notebooks these days, comes with a 360-degree rotating display. This, of course, allows you to rotate the display into a number of different orientations, opening the door to more usage modes than your standard notebook.

That seems to be one of the biggest selling points of the Notebook 7 Spin (2018), as it's an otherwise mid-range notebook with a focus on being speedy. You know the type: 8th-gen Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. The Notebook 7 Spin is also outfitted with a 13.3-inch FHD display and a "larger battery," though Samsung didn't actually talk specifics about the battery's size.

Though its internals will probably be instantly familiar to anyone who has shopped notebooks recently, the Notebook 7 Spin does still have some features that might help it stand out from the crowd a bit. It's compatible with Samsung's Active Pen (though you'll have to pick that up separately), which makes sense when you consider that this notebook is being targeted at "working professionals and students."

As an extension of that focus on productivity, Samsung has also included a fingerprint scanner, which allows you to secure the Notebook 7 Spin with Windows Hello. Beyond that, you'll also have a privacy folder that allows you to keep important files secure.

Samsung will have the Notebook 7 Spin on hand at CES 2018, with a launch to follow sometime in the first quarter of the year here in the US. More specific details on launch weren't available, nor was a final price for the machine. There's a chance we'll find out more at CES next week, so stay tuned for that.
