Resident Evil Revelations Collection announced for Nintendo Switch

As it was with the Wii U, Capcom is one of the first publishers to throw a good amount of support behind the Nintendo Switch. The company's first game, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, sold well despite some complaints at launch that it was priced too high. With Street Fighter's success now in the books, Capcom has decided to continue supporting the Switch with the Resident Evil Revelations Collection.

This new release is a pretty straightforward one, as Resident Evil Revelations Collection combines both Revelations titles into one package. Capcom says that at retail, the box you buy will include one cartridge that houses the first Resident Evil Revelations. An included voucher, on the other hand, will net you a downloadable copy of Resident Evil Revelations 2.

In a blog post today, Capcom says that the retail package will cost $39.99. If you prefer, you can buy digital copies of both games separately on the Switch eShop for $19.99 each. Splitting them up into separate digital purchases is good for the Nintendo faithful, who may have played the first game on the 3DS but missed out on the second one, which was never released on Nintendo consoles.

Alternatively, Capcom will be releasing the first Resident Evil Revelations on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 29. Essentially, Capcom is letting Resident Evil fans get all caught up on the Revelations series regardless of which platform they own, and it's nice to see that finally happen.

Capcom doesn't give a release date for the Switch version of Resident Evil Revelations Collection, only saying that it will be out in late 2017. The hope here is that Capcom will support the Switch for a long time to come, and with Switch sales through the roof, it isn't hard to imagine Capcom sticking around.
