Povie puts a smartphone around your neck

People like to take selfies and share videos with others on social media of what they are doing. The catch is that sometimes you need to have your hands free and a selfie stick doesn't do the job. This is where a new device called Povie comes in. Povie is made by a firm called Edelkrone and even if it looks really weird, it's sort of a cool idea.

Let's say that you want to shoot a video from your POV of you doing something like building an electronics project, cooking, or anything else. The Povie is a plastic necklace device that can hold your smartphone so you can have both hands handy. It looks really silly, but if you are into this sort of video, you might not care.

The necklace device is 7.9" L x 5.7" W x 3" H and weighs 66g. It can hold a device up to 0.52 pounds and is made from ABS plastic and silicone injected parts. The device is held together at some parts via stainless steel screws and magnets. This might be the perfect thing for unboxing videos.

Povie is designed to make the angle of the smartphone easy to adjust so you can aim the camera exactly where you want. You simply tilt the smartphone down. It can also be used as a smartphone stand on your table or desk. I like the idea of being able to record videos of what you are doing without having to take yourself out of the moment by having a camera up to your face. Still, I think a lot of people would have a hard time wearing the Povie in public, it just looks so weird. Povie is available now for $49.99.
