Despite rumors to the contrary, it seems Ugobe, the company that manufactures Pleo, the robotic dinosaur, is not going out of business after all, and are merely downsizing and relocating their web hosting to a different location.
We don’t know much else than that. Prior to this release, people thought Pleo had gone extinct and that Ugobe had liquidated, but this just doesn’t seem to be the case. Caleb Chung, CEO of Ugobe, said today of the company:
“We’re going to respond to a lot of these rumors; we’re just going to do it in an organized way,” he said. “…Our company has always tried to have as much transparency as possible.”
Which really doesn’t tell us a whole lot, but Chung said that a press release addressing all of these rumors and rumblings would be coming in the next few weeks. I guess we’ll just have to wait with bated breath until then!
