PancakeBot is like a pancake 3D printer

Anyone with kids in the home can tell you if you mess around and make pancakes in shapes one time, you will be making them in shapes for the rest of your life. Making a pancake in a shape isn't the easiest thing to do, thankfully a new gadget has turned up that makes printing your pancakes in just about any shape you want a snap.

The gadget is called the PancakeBot and it's sort of like a 3D printer for breakfast food. The PancakeBot is able to squirt out the pancake batter in the shape of just about anything you can imagine. One of the keys to the product is the software that runs on your computer. That software allows you to trace just about any image and turn that tracing into a pancake.

Once you trace the image on your PC with the software, the resulting file can be printed using the PancakeBot. The machine comes with pre-loaded designs for you to print and has an easy to use interface for controlling the batter flow during printing.

The software is Mac and Windows compatible and the PancakeBot itself can print pancakes up to 16" x 8.3". The project is on Kickstarter seeking $50,000 and has raised over $67,000 with 31 days to go. A pledge of $179 or more will get you a complete PancakeBot including the griddle. Shipping is expected in July 2015.
