Panasonic's New HD Camcorders With Noise-Zooming Technology
Panasonic has just officially released two new HD camcorders for their prosumer collection, the HDC-SD1 and the HDC-DX1. Both models are incredibly compact and feature the kind of 3CCD video recording system used in many professional broadcast cameras. They also have Panasonic's Optical Image Stabilizer, which unlike digital image stabilization does not lose image quality.
But most notably, is that both camera's feature the "world's first 5.1 –channel surround sound system with 5 microphones." The Zoom Mic function can actually link the microphone's action to the camera's action. So when you zoom in on a subject, the microphone will also zoom in and record the sounds specific to that subject.
The HDC-SD1 records onto a SDHC memory cards and debuts as the "world's smallest and lightest 3CCD High Definition video camcorder." And with no moving parts in the recording section, it is also very impact resistant. The HDC-DX1, on the other hand, records directly onto a DVD. The suggested retail price for the HDC-SD1 is $1,499.95 and for the HDC-DX1 is $1,399.95. Both will be available in March.
