OnePlus 2 invite registrations eclipse 1 million mark

OnePlus says people are clamoring to get its OnePlus 2 smartphone, which we recently went hands-on with, and as such invite requests have surpassed the 1 million the first 72 hours. OnePlus recently launched its upcoming handset through what it says is the first ever virtual reality keynote, and now that invite registrations are live it has seen a massive influx of potential buyers. OnePlus was founded in December 2013, and the number of registrations hint that, despite the frustrations and troubles it has had, the company is seeing growing success.

The lack of NFC aside, the second iteration of the OnePlus phone has largely been welcomed, and the more than a million registrants indicate the company has been forgiven for its past PR blunders. OnePlus previously promised that it would be boosting its stock in anticipation of high demand.

OnePlus is planning to further hawk its next-gen smartphone through so-called "pop up" events in San Francisco, New York, Berlin, New Delhi, Milan, London, Jakarta, and Bangalore tomorrow. These events will give the buying public a chance to check out the phone in person.
