Olevia Joins The 120Hz Fever
The upgrade urge of big display continue, first they sell you 1080/60p but to eliminate judder and take full advantage of native Hi-def material, you are forced to get the display with 1080/24p capability. No, you are not there yet, the next best thing is 120hz panel to reduce motion blur in action pack like sport or motion picture. Right, it never ends. The first batch of 120hz panels were out year ago with huge price tag, No, they aren't really working out right with ghosting issues. The price has come down to a much affordable period now after the 2nd generation of 120hz hitting the street. Folks, it's about to go down even further with Olevia affordable products in the way.
Syntax-Brillian are planning a new line of 120hz LCD flat panel with full scale of 1080p resolution to be showcase at CES 2008. The new line has 5 sizes ranged from 42 to 65 inches and has a schedule to be released in 2nd quarter this year. It would be interesting to know if it will do 5:5 pull down on 24p source. Well, they may not end up on top of my component shelf but it's a good driving force on competitive market.
