Nintendo Switch weekly eShop update: RPG frenzy

Another Thursday is here, which means another week of Switch eShop releases is upon us. While last week's theme was definitely popular indie games, this week, Nintendo is big on RPGs. If you're a fan of the genre, you'll definitely want to check out the eShop this week, because there are some exciting games arriving.

The first RPG Nintendo detailed today is Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country. While this is a prequel to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 that's included in the game's expansion pass, it's also a standalone title that doesn't require Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to play. If you own the expansion pass, you've already had access to The Golden Country for about a week now, but the standalone version doesn't launch until tomorrow.

Also arriving this week is Valkyria Chronicles 4. While it may not be an RPG in the strictest sense, it's a tactical war game that has RPG elements to it. Valkyria Chronicles is a series that's been going strong for more than 10 years now, so if you're a fan of tactical, turn-based combat, be sure to give this one a look.
