Nintendo Director Comments On Smash Bros. Brawl
For all you potential Wii customers out there, we've gotten a few new details on the latest entry in the Super Smash Bros. series, courtesy of Japan's Weekly Famitsu. According to Brawl's director, Masahiro Sakurai, the game is still on schedule for a 2007 release in Japan, and that it will be one of the few announced first-party Wii games that won't have the player use the Wiimote's motion-sensing features.
"I feel the need to fully take on the responsibility when taking on a job. This has become even more important since becoming a freelancer. If you take on two projects, you definitely won't be able do a good job with a game as big as Smash Bros. Brawl."
So, to the surprise of no one, it appears that Nintendo is making sure that one of its most popular gaming series of recent years is getting all the attention it deserves. If you're thinking about getting a Wii, this is one title to keep your eyes on; those of you who aren't sold yet on the Wiimote's motion-sensing features can take comfort in knowing that you won't have to use them, and those looking for a fun Wii party title don't need to look any further.
