NASA updates iPhone app to version 2.0

If you're a fan of space and like to use the NASA website to check out photos and video, the space agency has now updated the app it offers for the iPhone and iPod touch version 2.0. The new version of the app has new features and a completely redesigned user interface to improve the way people explore and experience NASA content on their smartphone. The new app is available right now from the App Store.

One of the more interesting features for people who like to watch the skies and try to see NASA spacecraft orbiting the earth is integrated weather forecasts in the spacecraft sighting opportunity section. The updated app also offers information and links to all NASA visitor centers and a section about NASA programs. The app also offers the ability to print, save, and access favorite items and bookmark pages on the NASA website.

The new version the app requires iOS 5.0 or higher operate. NASA noted so far about 4.7 million people have downloaded its iPhone app. The app still offers users access to all sorts of content, including images, video on demand, and live streaming of NASA television. It also offers access to NASA's Third Rock online radio station along with mission and launch information. One of the most interesting parts of app for me is the ability to track where the ISS is.
