Minecraft: Story Mode for Wii U arrives Thursday

This upcoming Thursday, Minecraft: Story Mode from Telltale Games will be available on the Wii U. The Thursday release will be for the "The Order of the Stone," the first episode in the Minecraft: Story Mode series. Other episodes will be added for Wii U gamers "in the coming weeks," though specific release dates for those haven't been revealed yet.

The first episode will be available to Wii U users in North America and Europe through the Nintendo eShop starting Thursday for $4.99 USD (or the equivalent in local currency for European gamers). As well, gamers will also have a $19.99 USD Season Pass option that allows episodes 2 to 5 to be downloaded once released.

According to Nintendo, Minecraft: Story Mode for Wii U will have touch control options for using the screen instead of the physical controls, as well as off-TV mirroring and play for use with the Wii U GamePad. Otherwise the game will be the same, having gamers play as 'Jesse' as he or she travels across Overworld to the Nether and finally to the End.

Gamers will be tasked with finding The Order of the Stone to save the Minecraft world from "oblivion" after terror is released. Voice actors include Patton Oswalt as Jesse (the male version of the character) and Catherine Taber (the female version of Jesse).
