Microsoft to release update for HD DVD player

Microsoft is going to be releasing an update to their HD DVD-player add-on for the Xbox 360. This should hopefully take care of some of the concerns that users have voiced over the accessory.

With the update you will be able to select from Digital Stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1 and WMA Pro as your audio output via TOSLINK or HDMI. They have added "Dynamic Range Control" for digital audio output. You should also see improved HD DVD title compatibility and networking support, as well as improved MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 performance. 1080P output via HDMI will be supported on the Xbox 360 Elite. You'll also see improved parental controls.

If any of you guys currently have an HD DVD add-on for your 360 let us know if you see any significant improvements with this latest update.
