Master & Dynamic MW60 wireless headphones boast ultra-long range

Master & Dynamic has launched its new MW60 headphones. Unlike competing wireless headphones, Master & Dynamic says its latest model offers four times the standard range via an external wireless antenna. The design, meanwhile, skews toward the luxury end of the spectrum, including both heavy-grain premium leather and metal components. The MW60 model is up for pre-order now.

While the headphones have a lot to offer, it's the extended range that will catch most consumers' eyes. Using an exposed aluminum antenna, the maker boosts the Bluetooth range to four times the industry average (100+ft), allowing one to travel a generous distance away from whatever gadget is doing the streaming. This is coupled with a 16-hour rechargeable battery.

Other features include 45mm neodymium high-performance drivers, an integrated noise-isolating microphone, lambskin ear pads with memory foam, a 5 to 25,000Hz frequency range, Bluetooth 4.1 with aptX, a detachable 2 meter audio cable, micro USB for changing and updating, and an overall 345g weight.

As far as design goes, the headband is made from the aforementioned cowhide leather (exterior), while the interior portion is made from softer lambskin. The hinges, meanwhile, are made of stainless steel, as are some other components. Audio controls are located directly on the ear cups. The headphones are available for pre-order now from Master & Dynamic's website for $549 USD.
