MacBook Air update rumor surfaces

Updates for the MacBook Pro line were being clamored for long before the updates actually showed up a month or so back. The reason for the long delay was a shortage of 2010 Intel Core CPUs for the line of notebooks. A source had tipped MacWorld in Australia that the MacBook Pro update was coming and the tip proved correct.

Aussie MacWorld reports that the same tipster is now telling the publication that a MacBook Air update is set to land this week. The rumor stems from a new Apple product number that has been found in the database. The product number is MC516LL/A K87 BETTER BTR-USA. For some reason the BETTER section of the part number is believed to link the new product to a Mac.

However, MacWorld also thinks that the new product number could be one for a new 27-inch display that has been rumored to be on the way to match the 27-inch screen used in the high-end iMac. The database shows a few thousand of whatever the number goes with on the way to Australia this week so perhaps we will see a new product tomorrow.
