Logitech Base keeps iPad Pro charged up and working

Logitech has unveiled a new accessory for users of the iPad Pro that will help charge the device while propping it up so you can use it at the same time. The accessory is called the Base and it claims to be the first iPad Pro stand to use Apple Smart Connector technology. The charge stand has magnets in the cradle to help align the iPad Pro with the smart connector so it only takes one hand to put the iPad on the charger and go.

The Base is designed to hold the screen at a good angle for reading or interacting with apps on the display as the tablet charges. The stand can also be used to prop the iPad Pro on a desk to be used as a second screen. Base will work for the 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch iPad Pro tablets.

Base measures 3.23" H x 7" W x 4.48" D and weighs in at 12.6 ounces. The Lightning to USB cable isn't included the Apple cable included with the iPad has to be used. The input/output rating is 5.2V and 2.4A. Base needs about 7 hours to charge the iPad Pro fully with no apps running in the background.

The stand is made from aluminum and has a weighted foot for stability. The bottom of the stand has an anti-slip pad and the magnets are strong enough to secure the iPad in place. Base is MFI certified to meet safety and quality standards prescribed by Apple. Base will support the iPad Pro in landscape or portrait modes and provides a 70-degree angle. It is also compatible with iPad Pro silicon cases by Apple. Base sells for $99.99 and can be pre-ordered now, the exact shipping date is unknown.
