LG V40 ThinQ has a sweet deal on B&H Photo
Given the number of new smartphones that have debuted recently, especially from Google and Huawei, it's almost too easy to forget that LG, too, has a bright flame that it lit earlier this month. The LG V40 ThinQ is the first high-end smartphone in the market to sport 3+2 cameras, beating even Samsung's 4+1 mid-range Galaxy A9 to the punch. But, like many high-end smartphones these days, it's also high on the price tag. Not unless you catch this deal on B&H Photo Video before it ends.
It's impossible to deny that the V40 ThinQ's biggest selling factor is its cameras, three on the back and two on the front. That said, it might be in trouble if its success hinges only on those. While the output the cameras produced were quite good, our brief hands-on left us not too convinced of what LG is asking for in return.
That's a $950 price tag, full price. It's a tough pill to swallow, even with some of the freebies LG, retailers, and carriers are throwing in. How about a $200 discount, then? That could definitely sweeten the pot. And that's exactly what B&H Photo is suggesting.
From now until November 2, the LG V40 ThinQ only costs $749.99 from the retailer. That even includes the free SanDisk Ultra 256 GB microSDXC card and LG's 2nd Year Promise warranty. Do note, however, that the smartphone won't ship until October 31.
On its own, the LG V40 ThinQ is yet another commendable smartphone. Sticking to conventional features and designs, like a 3.5 mm headphone jack for that 32-bit Quad DAC and a rear fingerprint scanner, the smartphone is a breath of traditional air in the midst of fanciful and sometimes eccentric phones. Whether that will be enough to make it sell, however, is yet to be seen.
