Je Suis Charlie app gets one-hour approval following Cook email

Sans those living under a rock, you've likely heard the phrase 'Je Suis Charlie' many times in recent days, something that has been found on shirts, signs, posters, and hashtags across both the digital and physical worlds. While adding hashtags to your tweet and posting statuses on Facebook are both solid ways to show support, they're not the only one. The app "I am Charlie!' is another, and thanks to an email sent to Tim Cook, it was approved within an hour.

The app is simple and straight forward, allowing iOS users to peg their location and show their support with a small digital "Je Suis Charlie" flag. A small way to show support in a potentially big way, at least as far as seeing data in one place is concerned.

It didn't take long to get the app running, but the approval process was another matter — this takes several days or more, which was an unfortunate time frame. Nice-Matin, a news agency in France, sought to speed that up by emailing Tim Cook directly.

In the email, they requested the app review process be sped up, and that was followed up ten or so minutes later with a note that the app would be reviewed within an hour. A short while later, as promised, the app was live in the App Store.
