Intel and Nokia unveiled their joint effort MeeGo platform in February as the result of a partnership between the two coming from each of the firms individual Moblin and Maemo offerings. Intel has announced today that it and Orange in the UK have agreed to partner to deliver devices to consumer using Meego.
Orange wants to offer multimedia devices based on Intel Atom processor and the MeeGo platform. MeeGo is Linux based and was announced at MWC 2010 last month. The devices will reportedly include smartphones, tablets, and netbooks.
The multimedia devices will also integrate Orange Signature Services like Orange TV and Orange Maps. Little is known about the devices that the companies have planned right now. MeeGo device should turn up around the world this year.
