HyperX Cloud Flight S wireless headset also charges wirelessly
Wireless headsets, those bulky over-the-ear cups you put on your head, are a dime a dozen these days. Almost all of them, however, aren't completely wireless. When it comes to recharging the batteries that power their wireless audio connectivity, they suddenly become enslaved once more to the inescapable power cable. HyperX, however, wants to break free with the Cloud Flight S, the first wireless headset to support the Qi wireless charging for complete freedom and portability.
While wireless audio accessories offer more freedom of movement, that comes often comes at the price of requiring some downtime to recharge their batteries. More often than not, that requires plugging in a micro USB or USB-C cable. Not completely inconvenient but it doesn't feel as hi-tech either.
The HyperX Cloud Flight S offers that total wireless experience so that you won't have to fumble around for cables to quickly juice up the headset. Just drop it onto a Qi wireless charging plate, preferably HyperX's own ChargePlay Base if you have that. The company doesn't say how long it will charge the headset but it does boast that it will last for 30 hours on a full charge,
Other than that, the Cloud Flight S offers the features that HyperX fans are familiar with. That includes Signature Comfort delivered by pliable leatherette and plush memory foam as well as the NGENUITY customization software to let you choose which buttons do which actions. The headset broadcasts at 2.4 GHz wireless band and sports 50mm dynamic drivers to support its advertized 7.1 surround sound effect
The HyperX Cloud Flight S is now available for purchase in the US via Amazon or Best Buy for a price of $159.99. That also includes a detachable mic that has a rather ingenious LED mic mute indicator.
