2017 Mint 400 All-American Off-Road Race Gallery

The Mint 400 is an off-road race that began in the 1960s as a promotional event for the the Mint Hotel in Las Vegas. After a 20-year hiatus, the race was picked up against in the 2000s and quickly became one of the more demanding tests of human and machine on the roster of the Best In The Desert Racing Association.

Many different types of vehicles participate in the Mint 400, including four-wheel drives, Trophy Trucks, and home-built off-road rigs of every description. The event is accessible for fans and drivers alike, with classes specifically designed to be affordable for first-time entries, alongside the high-dollar Unlimited class which sees corporate-backed entries from brands like Toyota which enjoy a long history in off-road motorsports.

We checked out the 2017 running of the Mint 400 after our own desert drive in the Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road, and had the chance to sample first-hand what the passion and spectacle of off-road racing at its highest level is all about.
