2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 First Drive Gallery

The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is an all-new, off-road focused pickup that takes on rivals like the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and the Ford F-150 Raptor in the battle for the hearts and minds of trail-blazing adventurers. The Chevrolet ZR2 pushes past the Z71 off-road package that has been available across the Chevrolet line-up for decades by leveraging advanced technologies and special design cues not found on any other model.

The Colorado ZR2 features numerous upgrades compared to the standard version of the mid-size truck, including DSSV shock absorbers, electronically-locking front and rear differentials, and unique exterior styling intended to improve approach and departure angles when driving off-pavement. Under the hood, the truck offers the same choice between either a 3.6-liter V6 producing 308 horsepower, or a more efficient, torque-happy four-cylinder turbodiesel engine. No four-cylinder option is available with the ZR2.
