Get Android on your desktop with these steps

If you are a big Android fan and having the OS on your smartphone isn't enough for you, you can get it on your netbook or desktop computer now. To get Android to run on your machine you need to follow a few steps.

The first step is to get a flash drive or a memory card with 256MB or more of storage space and then grab Android from the x86 install page. You will also need to grab UNetbootin to perform the install. You can also install Android to a PC with an optical drive using a program for burning disc images.

A few changes in the BIOS are needed to get the machine to boot to your new OS and the direction on How To Geek walk you through all of the steps. The publication does report that the WiFi card in its test machine wasn't recognized.
