Garmin unveils Approach S1 golf GPS watch

Garmin has a GPS device for just about every need that you might have. The company makes a full line of GPS devices for golfers that will tell them how far from the hole they are as they play at some of the most popular courses around the country. Garmin has added a new and compact product to its golfing line up today called the Approach S1.

The S1 is a watch that looks like any other digital with the added benefit that the S1 has precise yardages to the front, back, and middle of the green. The watch has details for over 14,000 courses loaded from the factory.

The watch updates the golfer’s position constantly and will give individual shot distances. The watch is rugged and waterproof, which is important if you are caught in the rain. It weighs 1.8 ounces and the display is backlit. Power comes from a rechargeable lithium-ion battery good for up to eight hours in GPS mode and up to three weeks in watch mode. It also automatically detects time zones and sets the time automatically.
