First Suicide Squad official trailer shows off the worst heroes ever

Comic book fans will already know that the film version of the Suicide Squad is coming to theaters this summer. The first official trailer for the film has landed and the movie looks very cool. The flick follows a squad of death row bad guys who get commuted prison sentences in exchange for going on missions that they aren't likely to return from for the US government.

The flick has an all-star cast that will bring the villains to the big screen. Jared Leto plays the Joker and in the trailer, he appears to play a more serious Joker than the late Heath Ledger. Other actors who play bad guys on the squad include Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Scott Eastwood, Jay Hernandez, Karen Fukuhara, and Cara Delevigne.

Apparently, the comic book version of Suicide Squad was used in part to explain exactly why minor-league villains seemed to rotate constantly in and out of prison in the DC comics universe. It's unclear if the movie will follow any plot lines from the comic series.

What we do know is that there will be plenty of explosions and death in the film. The comic book series was known particularly for killing off members of the team, perhaps the film will follow suit.
