First Pokémon gym set to open in Osaka next month

"I want to be the very best..." If you can finish that line, then I've got some great news for you. Since the original Pokémon games debuted in the 90's, people everywhere have wanted to be Pokémon Master. Sadly, to do so requires you to visit a Pokémon Gym, and collect badges. And there have been a distinct lack of such gyms, until now.

On November 19th, the Pokémon Expo Gym will open in Osaka, Japan. The attraction will be an interactive educational experience for kids. And by kids, I of course mean everyone, because when it comes to Pokémon, we're all kids at heart.

You will be able to download a "Pokémon Expo Gym Gear" app for your smartphone, which will log your different activities at the gym. Through this you can rank up, and even earn special Pokémon for your 3DS games.

The biggest piece of information missing from the announcement is whether or not you will be able to earn badges. After all, the whole point of going to a gym is to defeat the leader and get your badge!
