Epson unveils PM225 PictureMate Charm photo printer

Portable photo printers are great for those special occasions where you want to print photos right then to give out. They are also a great device for those who like to do their own scrap booking. Epson has announced a new printer called the PM225 PictureMate Charm that is portable and promises quality photos.

The small printer is designed to be mobile and has an optional rechargeable battery for prints away from an AC outlet. The printer produces 4x6 photos in about 36 seconds using inks that are durable. Epson claims that the inks it uses will last for 96 years under glass and over 200 years in dark album storage.

The Charm has a 2.5-inch LCD that allows users to crop, view, and print photos without a computer. The screen also allows users to perform basic editing like red eye removal and choosing color, B&W, or Sepia finishes. The device also has a built-in memory card reader and an optional Bluetooth adapter for printing from camera phones and other devices wirelessly. The PictureMate Charm sells for $149.99 and will ship on October 20.
