Disco Dog smartphone-controlled LED vest makes your dog a party animal

Everyone loves man’s best friend; the pet industry has always been an area where people spend a lot hard-earned cash on their little fur babies. Lately, technology has been innovating the pet market as well. The latest incarnation of tech and puppy love is the Disco Dog LED vest by PARTY, a New York creative firm. It allows you to use your smartphone to control the animated pattern of lights on the doggy vest. You can choose different colors and light patterns, and they even have an option to create a scrolling message, just like an LED marquee.

The vest has a rechargeable battery too, so you can always be ready to illuminate your nightly dog-walking experience. If you’re more into entertaining, just place Disco Dog on your pup at home to make him the life of the party! The vest can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth, so you can control all the lighting aspects at your fingertips. The Disco Dog app is available for iOS and Android devices. You can choose sparkles, stripes, and there is even an advertisement mode to use your dog as an updated adorable sandwich board.

This little vest isn’t just a canine fashion statement, it keeps your dog safe when you go for a walk together at night. The Disco Dog vest packs additional safety features for your pup as well. The vest can automatically go from lighting up the night to a scrolling “LOST DOG” sign when your dog runs out of range. This would be handy in a leash-free zone, or if your dog has a habit of breaking free.

Disco Dog will offer the vest in three sizes and it has an adjustable, velcro fit to ensure that no dog misses the chance to look fabulous. Right now, Disco Dog is in the prototype phase. They are looking for funds to create a limited run of 80 vests, and possibly more if there is enough interest.
