December 13 may be launch day for Mac App Store

If you are a massive fan of applications on your iPad and iPhone that happens to use a Mac computer, you were probably excited by the fact that Mac computers are getting their own App Store. A new rumor is circulating that pegs the launch date for that new App Store for Macs as only a few weeks away.

According to the rumor, the Mac App Store is set to launch on December 13. The rumor also claims that Apple told developers to have their software ready for launch as early as December 6. The goal is supposedly to have the store launched by Christmas.

A source cited by Mac Rumors claims that Steve Jobs has been pushing hard for an early release for the Mac App Store and that Apple is ahead of schedule. Like any rumor, some salt is needed along with the info, but a launch before Christmas makes sense to grab those holiday shopping dollars.
