Audi AI:TRAIL quattro is the off-roader of the future

Audi has rolled out a new concept vehicle called the Audi AI:TRAIL quattro. The automaker says that the concept is the off-roader for the future of road transportation. The Audi AI:TRAIL quattro is a four-seat vehicle that has what Audi claims to be unrivaled all-around visibility.

The glass surface all around the vehicle gives passengers the ability to view nature outside the ride. Audi says that the futuristic vehicle has no screens for streaming content or videoconferencing. The Audi AI:TRAIL quattro is an EV with no emissions produced.

The vehicle is an all-wheel-drive ride using Audi quattro tech. It has four electric motors and has systems for assisted and automated driving. The vehicle's body dimensions show that it is meant for off-road use says Audi with a length of 13.5 feet, the width of 7.05 feet, and the roof height is 5.5 feet. The wheels are 22-inch units with 33.5-inch tires on them.

Ground clearance is 13.4-inches, and the vehicle can ford water more than 1.6-feet deep. The battery is packaged in the floor of the vehicle, and Audi says it won't come into contact with the ground. The vehicle is made using extensive glazed glass all around. It has construction made of high-tech steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber. Its eye towards lightweight materials gives the vehicle a weight of 3,858 pounds.

The windshield of the vehicle was designed to wrap around like the cockpit of a helicopter. The extensive use of glass gives views of the front and sides of the vehicle. Nearly the entire roof is clear from the windshield to the rear spoiler. Audi AI:TRAIL quattro rolls on tires that have sensors inside and can regulate their air pressure depending on needs. The concept also has drones that can fly in pairs to provide light when needed or come together in groups to light around the vehicle. Power is a combined 320 kilowatts and 1,000 Nm of torque.
