Archos Diamond Tab 7.9" Lollipop tablet launches in October
Archos has introduced its new Diamond Tab tablet, the first octa-core tablet it offers with 4G LTE connectivity. As far as specs go, they're decidedly mid-tier, and in line with the related £179 price tag. The tablet won't be available until October, but we've all the details on what you can expect now. Among it all is a 1.7GHz octa-core Mediatek MT8752, giving it enough oomph to run more demanding apps, including games. The display is on the smaller side at 7.9 inches.
Joining the aforementioned specs are 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space, as well as a micro SD card slot for expanding the storage. The display has a generous resolution at 2048 x 1536 pixels. In addition, there's an ARM MaliT760-MP2 450Mhz GPU. Joining it all is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel rear camera.
There's a single SIM slot, Bluetooth 4.0, and 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi with hotspot support. Integrated GPS allows the tablet to be used for navigation. Furthermore, content can be shared over Wi-Fi Direct, while audio is delivered via a single stereo speaker. There's an integrated microphone and 3.5mm audio jack, as well.
Rounding out the features is a 4800mAh battery, a weight of 360 grams, and Android 5.1 Lollipop. Archos plans to show off the tablet at IFA in Berlin next month ahead of the late-fall debut. Check out the timeline below for other recent Archos devices!
