By December 31, 2008, iTunes U, the part of the store for educational content will be available for the blind. Then, by June 30, 2009, the rest of iTunes and the iTunes Store will be blind-accessible, too.

Screen access software will make this possible by translating information into Braille or spoken words. Apple has also agreed to donate $250,000 to the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind to make assistive technologies more accessible and to develop such technology for making software and the Internet more accessible to those with vision problems.
