Apex Legends season 1 Wild Frontier Battle Pass detailed

The first season of Apex Legends kicks off tomorrow, and with it, the first Battle Pass for the game will go live. The Battle Pass for Apex Legends seem to work similarly to the ones in Fortnite – it costs 950 Apex Coins ($9.50), and allows players to unlock cosmetics and other items by playing the game. Electronic Arts and Respawn gave us an in-depth explanation of how the Battle Pass will work, so let's dive in.

The Apex Legends Battle Pass for season 1 will come with 100 tiers of unlockable loot, and as a carrot on a stick to get people to buy, you'll get three skins as soon as you purchase it. These skins include the Lifeline Revolutionary skin, the Wraith Survivor skin, and the Mirage Outlaw, all of which you can see in the image below.

Respawn has posted the loot for all 100 tiers over on the Apex Legends website, and a quick look through it shows that there's a pretty healthy mix of cosmetics and customizations to unlock. Unlockables include character intros, Legend skins, XP, Apex Coins, banner panels and emblems, loot boxes, and of course, weapon skins. Everything you unlock during the season is yours to keep, so if you play a lot of Apex Legends, you can potentially unlock a ton of stuff with the Battle Pass.

Just like Epic does with Fortnite, Respawn will allow you to get a jump start on your Battle Pass by purchasing early tiers. In addition to offering the Battle Pass on its own for 950 Apex Coins, Respawn is also offering the Battle Pass Bundle, which includes the first 25 tiers, for 2,800 Apex Coins. If you're the type of person who plays Apex Legends frequently, you probably don't need to pay for those first 25 tiers, but it's a nice option for those who don't play enough to burn through the whole Battle Pass before the season ends.

In a post to Reddit, Respawn notes that players who get to tier 97 will earn enough Apex Coins to cover the price they paid for the Battle Pass, so assuming the price doesn't change between seasons, it sounds like you can earn enough currency to get the next Battle Pass for free.
