WatchOS 2 delayed: No new Apple Watch software today

Early today Apple made note that they will not be releasing WatchOS 2 as planned for this early afternoon for the Apple Watch. This software will be delayed until a later date, until a time at which Apple can clear up whatever bug they've found in the early morning hours of September 16th, 2015. We can expect the release of iOS 9 to go on as planned later this morning. NOTE: This does not mean that the software you have already on your Apple Watch is anything less than good, just that the next update will be delayed.

An Apple spokesperson said in a statement that they "have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected." Apple continued, "we will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly."

It's likely that this bug was not found in the WatchOS 2.0 betas released earlier, but in the final software headed to users this morning. Again, this software has not yet been released, and will be delayed until a later time.

As for iOS 9, you can catch our first here's how to get your iPhone ready guide from earlier this week. This software will likely be released at around 10AM PST – based on releases of similar software from Apple in the past.
