Verizon data plans refreshed: new $15 smartphone option

Verizon's new data plans have launched, offering smartphone data from $15 for 150MB alongside the original $29.99 unlimited data plan, together with a range of new tariffs for mobile broadband, embedded modems and hotspots like the Verizon FIVESPOT.  Announced earlier this month, the hotspot plans kick off at $20 per month, though there are also contract-free prepay options.

In fact, you'd be a fool to go for a regular USB 3G modem rather than a FIVESPOT or Verizon MiFi 2200, since the modem plans start at $39.99 for just 250MB per month, while the hotspot plans get you 1GB for $20 or 3GB for $35.  Full details in the gallery below.
