Ultimate Marvel Marathon is 29 hours straight of superhero movies

Are you really into Marvel's superhero movie universe? Can you tolerate sitting still for an incredibly long period of time without going to sleep? Are you dying from anticipation for the new Avengers: Age of Ultron film? If you answered "yes" to all of those questions, the time to prove it will come in late April, as the Regal and AMC movie theater chains will begin offering tickets to a 29-hour movie marathon that's made up of 11 Marvel superhero flicks, leading right into the first premier of Ultron.

Dubbed the Ultimate Marvel Marathon, the sitting endurance test will begin at 6:00 pm on April 29th at select AMC and Regal theaters. For a ticket price of $65, viewers will be able to watch all the Marvel movies in chronological order, starting with the first Iron Man film from 2008. That comes to a value of just under $6 per movie. Just so you know exactly what you're in for, here's the full list of what you'll be subjecting your eyeballs to for 29 consecutive hours:

  • Iron Man
  • The Incredible Hulk
  • Iron Man 2
  • Thor
  • Captain America: The First Avenger
  • The Avengers
  • Iron Man 3
  • Thor: The Dark World
  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  • Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron

That's right, the real treat (and reason for this entire event) is at the end of the list, where marathon participants will be some of the first to see the theater premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Those who manage to survive will also be given a special commemorative medal featuring the Avengers logo.

There doesn't seem to be any mention about breaks between films to get up and move around (or sneak in a quick nap), so if you're considering this challenge, best to prepare yourself to survive on movie theater popcorn and soda, and timing those restroom trips. If you're not completely sick of the Avengers universe by the end of the marathon, then you're the real superhero.
